Apparently they source the bottles they use for missiles themselves.

Their habit of drinking the contents of the bottles they find on the beach makes them too big for cockpit armor.

You can defeat them by attacking the pilot in the cockpit.

The missile launchers are immune to attacks, so aim for the pilot from either the front or the back.

They will always target you from a distance. It's better to defeat them quickly when you spot them.
