Maws

They have large bodies, but they usually conceal themselves in ink.

They will suddenly breach out of the ink under their targets.

The red bobbers that float in the ink indicate where their next attack will occur.

They've attached beached boats to their abdomens.

The ships are battered and decayed, probably from being tossed about on rough waves.

The shape of the keels seems well suited to movement through ink.

Maws have restraints on their mouths to keep them from gulping down everything in their path.

They are gluttons by nature, but they've grown more cautious after nearly eating bombs by accident.

Attack them as they reveal themselves while breaching.

Their abdomens are protected by hard armor, but their backs are vulnerable, so try to attack them from behind.

Note which way the bobber is facing before a breach. Use that information to predict which way the Maws will be facing when it reveals itself.
